Hey there! Welcome to GGQ! I’m so glad you’re here. As a self-proclaimed vegan hippie with a passion for crochet, I struggled with the wastefulness that can come along with a crochet habit and a yarn addiction. Yes, I want to create beautiful gifts and enjoy an engaging hobby, but how do I stay true to my convictions and do the least harm?

I started looking at the massive collection of yarn at my craft stores, and to my dismay, most of the skeins were made of acrylic and polyester. However, after some careful searching and research, I discovered some great alternatives to these materials.

The more I crocheted with eco-conscious materials, the more I realized how few sustainable crocheted items or content I saw online or at markets. If this is something I care about, maybe other crocheters and customers of handmade goods care about it too.

And so, Geeky Green Queen was born! I focus on using yarn made from recycled materials and natural fibers. My goal is to create beautiful gifts, plushies, fashion items, and useful products that showcase handmade quality while also being mindful of sustainability.
